About Us

U.P. Lakeside Secluded Cabins are owned and operated by David and Nancy Young.  David Young purchased The Cabin in 2010 and purchased The Lodge in 2014. We have owned some of the adjoining acres and lake frontage for 25 years as a part of our nearby 600 plus acres, which is a Certified Tree Farm. Ownership of this property was a natural fit with our other farming and family interests. Our children, grandchildren and great grandchildren encouraged us to purchase and update the cabin and rent it out to others who can appreciate all the comforts of home in an off-the-grid private, natural lakeside environment. The kids and grandkids have already made future reservations to insure that the great grandkids can experience this natural environment as they grow up. The grandkids must think this is a magical site as they annually travel from Arizona, Colorado, South Carolina and Indiana to spend their vacation time, even if grandpa and grandma are not in Michigan. We live nearby and will assist renters in any way we can. Why David Young chose Crystal Falls? The opportunity to purchase this property fulfilled our dream of owning this very private lakeside cabin in a very pristine, natural environment. A private boat launch, dock and swimming area is only a few feet from the cabin. The boat launch won't support boats over 14 feet. What makes this cabin unique? There is high probability that, during your stay on this property, you will not see another person. In season, you may be able to pick your own mushrooms, strawberries, blackberries, and blueberries. Organically grown fruits and vegetables are available to purchase in town. It is possible that you may see a bald eagle fishing for its dinner on the lake and loons swimming with their babies. We encourage stays of a month or more and will consider modifying the rate for stays over 30 days.
